Do you find yourself dragging in the morning? Feeling like the life has been sucked right out of you? Like you need bed time to come well before lunchtime? While many of us may be in an environment that fosters these feelings 5 days a week (an awful job), it is likely not the only contributor. More and more, we are turning to quick pick me ups to deal with the day instead of trying to fix the problem. These pick me ups generally come in the form of Energy Drinks. There is nothing healthy about fake energy. This quick and short lasting pick me up is generally large doses of caffeine and sugar. Regular consumption of Energy drinks can lead to some serious health risks including cardiac arrest. Two common causes of a lack of energy are not enough sleep and nutrition. If you are not getting at least 7 hours of sleep per night, make it a point to rearrange your schedule to fix that. Additionally, try eating 30 grams of protien within 1 hour of getting out of bed. This can be difficult at first, but it will make a tremendous difference in your energy for the day. 30 grams of can be 3 eggs, a protien shake, or whatever floats your boat. I once struggled with energy and it felt like I was fighting to get through the day. Since making it a point to incorporate proper sleep and 30 gram protien breakfasts into my life, those days are far past me. I also incorporate a vitamin supplement - NutraBurst. I regularly donate blood and I find that this strategy keeps my counts up high enough to successfully donate. Change is not easy, but small steps can make a big difference. If you are using Energy Drinks that cost $2 to $3 per day, consider trying NutraBurst for a natural boost in energy. On a monthly basis, you will save money and consume less sugar and caffeine. If Energy Drinks are your caffeine supply, try a cup of coffee instead. Sweetened up, it is probably still less sugar than an energy drink. Drinking it black is best.
