Protien Power Pancake Recipes

I know you know that breakfast is really the most important meal of the day.  Do you understand why?  Breakfast is what sets your body up for success for the rest of the day.  If you are trying to lose weight, you REALLY REALLY need to be eating breakfast, and a very high protien one at that.  Aim for at least 25 -30g of protien for breakfast alone.  A high protien breakfast will keep you body and metabolism running at optimal levels during the day while, which are essential for weight loss.  Below are some great pancake recipes that will really help you pack in that protien!

Simple Protein Pancakes
  • 1 Scoop Whey/ Protein Powder (flavor of choice, I used Vanilla)
  • 2 Egg Whites
  • 1/4 Cup Oats
  • 1/2 Large Banana (substitutions below)
  • 1 TB Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon of Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon (optional)

Directions:
  1. Put all ingredients into blender or magic bullet and blend until smooth.
  2. Allow the batter to set for about 5 minutes.
  3. Heat up a skillet or pan and spray with non-stick spray.
  4. Pour batter onto skillet (batter makes 2-3 normal sized pancakes).
  5. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles appear.
  6. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until cooked fully.​

Alternative Options:
If you aren’t a fan of banana, you can sub this for 1/4 cup pureed pumpkin, fat free plain greek yogurt or nonfat cottage cheese.

Top with whatever you want. I recommend a natural nut butter like almond butter or peanut butter. You could also top with fresh fruit, sugarfree jam, honey, coconut butter, maple syrup or sugarfree syrup. Get creative!

​Cottage Cheese Pancakes
With these protein filled Low Carb Cottage Cheese Pancakes, you can enjoy America's favorite breakfast without the guilty conscience.

Ingredients
  • ½ Cup (110g) low or no fat Cottage Cheese
  • ¼ Cup (20g) Oats
  • ⅓ Cup (90g) Egg Whites (or the whites from 2 eggs if you don’t have liquid egg whites)
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. Stevia in the raw (optional. Only if you want it to be sweet)

Instructions
Pour cottage cheese and egg whites into the blender first, then oats, vanilla extract, and a little stevia.
  1. Blend to a smooth consistency.
  2. Put a pan with a little cooking spray on medium heat and bake each pancake until golden on both sides.
  3. Serve with berries, sugar-free jam or peanut butter.

Perfect Protein Pancakes
Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup dry oats
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 2 T unsweetened almond milk
  • optional: 1/8 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
  1. whisk together liquid ingredients (eggs, vanilla if desired, and almond milk - you may use slightly less or slightly more than 2T depending on the consistency you desire).
  2. Add in oats and protein powder.
  3. Cook in a heated skillet, I use a non-stick canola spray first.
  4. Drop into skillet in 1/4 cup portions, this makes about four pancakes.
  5. Serve with berries, sugar-free jam or peanut butter.
