If you are looking for a workout or doubting you will have time to make it to gym, I have a gem for you. Tabata! Tabata workouts are generally short spurts of intense exercise with little or no rest. I love bootcamp and I love short workouts. Today's Tabata is a blend of both in my opinion - it works out your entire body in a short period of time!! The workout has three 4-minute circuits. The first set focuses on cardio and legs, the second set works your arms and the third works your core. You do each circuit twice, with 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest for each move. It’s intense and there’s little rest, but it’s over in just 12 minutes — 15 if you take a one minute break between each circuit. You can do anything for 15 minutes, right? It's Monday and for many of us, back to the grind. How was your weekend? I don't know about you, but my definition of a great weekend is one that has me looking for ways to burn off those extra calories. And besides that, who wouldn't like to burn a quick 100 calories? I am sharing with you a quick workout that can burn 100 calories! This workout is super fast, so why not go for the gold and do it 5 or 10 times through??? That means you can burn 500 or 1000 calories. If you give yourself 1 minute to do each exercise you are looking at 15 minutes MAX to do this 10 times through and take breaks along the way. If you have a severe case of the "Mondays", one time through should not take you longer than 4-5 minutes. Take care of your body and do a light warm up/cool down and stretch. Can 7 minutes of working out change your body? According to research published in the American College of Sports Medicine's Health & Fitness Journal, it can. The science behind this 7 minute transformation is a series of exercises that use only your body weight and you giving it all you got. Basically, as with anything in life, if you half ass it, you won't get the result you are looking for. This is a 7 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout of 12 exercises that you do for 30 seconds followed by a 5-10 second rest. You only go through the sequence once. At 7 minutes, you could definitely do this at least 5 days per week. While this may seem relatively easy, I can assure you that it is not. This workout should have you feeling pretty unpleasant. Think about it - you are trading a 1 hour workout for a 7 minute condensed version. It should not feel good. Below is a quick tutorial of the exercises as well as a video on how to perform each exercise correctly.
